Scalp pigment
What it is, and what it is not
Cosmetic only. It shapes a line and adds the look of density. Read this before you book.
What it is
- A cosmetic pigment placed in the top layer of the scalp by a licensed artist.
- Fine dots that shape a hairline, or give a thinning area or a shaved head the look of density.
- Matched to your hair color, and tried on a small test spot behind the ear first.
- Something that fades over time, so a check-in is part of the plan.
What it is not
- It does not grow hair.
- It is not a medical treatment.
- It is not the same on everyone. Results vary with your skin, your hair color and how your scalp holds pigment.
- It is not a decision to make in one visit. A consultation always comes first.
The consultation
It starts with a conversation
Ashleigh looks at your hairline, your hair color and your skin. She draws the shape on you so you can see it, and she tells you plainly what pigment can do and what it cannot.
You leave with a written plan and its price. Nothing is placed that day, and you can take as long as you like to decide.
What you leave with
Your hairline drawn on, so you can see the shape
A written plan and its price before anything is placed
A small test spot behind the ear before pigment
Time to go home and decide

Before you book
When to ask your doctor first
We would rather you know why. Ask your doctor or a dermatologist before booking if any of these sound like you.
Your hair has thinned quickly
Fast thinning, or patches, is worth a doctor's visit before anything cosmetic. Pigment will not change the reason, and we will not place it until you have asked.
Your scalp is sore, itchy or has a rash
We do not place pigment on irritated or broken skin. See your doctor first, and come back when your scalp has settled.
You are pregnant, or on a medicine that affects your skin or healing
Ask your doctor whether cosmetic pigment is right for you now. You can book a consultation and decide later.
You are under 18
We place scalp pigment only for clients 18 and over. Cuts and head shaves are open to teenagers, with a parent in the studio.
Start with a consultation
Thirty minutes, with the artist. Nothing is placed.
